GWNET is proud to announce a new partnership with the SADC Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (SACREEE)for the Energising Women to Advance the Energy Transition in the SADC Region project. The Austrian Development Agency, the operational unit of the Austrian Development Cooperation, supports this project.
The Energising Women to Advance the Energy Transition in the SADC Region initiative will run until June 2028, with the goal of empowering women across the Southern African Development Community (SADC). The project focuses on enhancing women’s leadership and entrepreneurship in the region’s sustainable energy sector. Through mentoring programmes, communications campaigns, and capacity-building activities, it aims to foster women’s economic empowerment and strengthen their influence in the energy transition across the SADC region.
The official project launch will take place on Tuesday, 3rd December 2024, in Gaborone, Botswana, during the SADC Sustainable Energy Week.
