Location: Munich, Germany

Description: The one-day international “Women Energize Women” Conference was held in Munich, Germany, to deal with pressing energy transition issues across the world by looking at them from a female perspective and actively involving female change-makers. The event also aimed to facilitate professional networks and mentoring opportunities for women in the energy transition.

GWNET staff, select participants from the Energising Women to Advance the Energy Transition mentoring programme, and select women’s energy networks, took part in discussion rounds, workshops and networking on energy and gender topics with exclusively female speakers.

Furthermore, GWNET Executive Director, Christine Lins, led a marketplace of ideas, where she introduced 10+ different national and regional women’s energy networks and gave them a platform to share their activities and accomplishments.

This event is part of the “Women Energize Women” (#womenenergize) campaign, a communication initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE) in cooperation with The smarter E Europe and BSW Solar within the scope of BMWK’s global project Bilateral Energy Partnerships and Dialogues.
