GWNET is excited to present the second cohort of participants in the Energising Women to Advance the Energy Transition Mentoring Programme.

The programme was launched by the Global Women’s Network for the Energy Transition (GWNET) in partnership with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), across select countries under the German bilateral energy partnerships.

GWNET has received over 500 applications from women working in sustainable energy in:

  • MENA: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates
  • East- and Southern Africa: Ethiopia, Namibia and South Africa

Each of the selected mentees will be matched with a hand-picked mentor with whom they will engage in a bilateral exchange between August 2023 and May 2024; this matchmaking is done based on career aspirations stipulated in the application form.

In parallel, an exclusive online course on energy and personal development topics will be organised for the mentee cohort to stimulate professional and personal growth.
