Description: GWNET Executive Director, Christine Lins, spoke at the Women in the Energy Transition session of the EU Sustainable Energy Week, whose theme this year was “Beyond the crisis: Clean energy for Green Recovery and Growth.”
Discussions in this session revolved around how the EU economic recovery efforts, the European Green Deal and energy policy can be used as opportunities to strengthen the place of women in the energy transition and improve gender equality.
It also sought to show the influence that the empowerment of women in the energy sector can have on how we transform our energy systems. Policy-makers, business, civil society and academic representatives had the opportunity to share their views and experience with the public.
