Description: The hybrid high-level side event ‘Women Empower the Energy Transition‘ was held on 23rd September, as part of the first-ever Global Clean Energy Action Forum, a joint convening of the 13th Clean Energy Ministerial and the 7th Mission Innovation ministerial.

The side event “showcased how women are driving innovation for a just, equitable, and inclusive clean energy future and how collaborative global initiatives, like the Equality Initiative and the Gender and Energy Compact, are taking bold actions to close the gender energy gap.”

The side event was hosted by the Equality in Energy Transitions Initiative, the Gender and Energy Compact Coalition co-led by ENERGIA, GWNET and UNIDO, and Hua Nani Partners LLC, and brought together speakers from across the public and private sector, academia, civil society, as well as youth associations.

At the end of the session, the Equality Initiative Awards 2022 were presented across three categories.
