Description: The event “Women as Key Players in the Decentralised Renewable Energy Sector: Beneficiaries, Leaders, Innovators” organised by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Power for All and GWNET was held online on March 8th, on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
“The event aimed to increase awareness of the role of women in decentralized renewable energy and explored ways to increase their involvement in the industry. In line with the United Nations’ theme for International Women’s Day, the event considered ways to tailor technological innovation in support of broadening women’s access to renewable energy.”
GWNET Executive Director, Christine Lins, moderated this event, which included remarks from Rabia Ferroukhi (Director of KPFC, IRENA), Celia García-Baños (Programme Officer, IRENA), and Carolina Pan (Research Director, Power4All). Panel speakers during this event included:
